Stamping is a forming and processing method that uses a press and mold to apply external force to plates, strips, pipes, and profiles, causing them to undergo plastic deformation or separation, in order to obtain the desired shape and size of the workpiece. The stamping and stretching process should be combined with the actual situation of equipment, personnel, etc., to select and design a technologically advanced, economically reasonable, and safe and reliable process plan. 1、 The difference between cold stamping and hot stamping

According to the temperature during stamping, there are two methods: cold stamping and hot stamping. This depends on the strength, plasticity, thickness, degree of deformation, and equipment capacity of the material, while also considering the original heat treatment state and ultimate usage conditions of the material.

(1) Cold stamping is a manufacturing process for metal workpieces at room temperature, which has the advantages of no heating, no oxide skin, good surface quality, easy operation, and low usage. The disadvantage is the hardening phenomenon, which can cause the metal to lose further deformation ability in severe cases. Cold stamping requires the thickness of the blank to be uniform and have a small fluctuation range, with a smooth surface, no spots, no scratches, etc.

(2) Hot stamping is a stamping method that heats metal to a certain temperature range. The advantages are that it can eliminate internal stress, avoid hardening, increase material plasticity, reduce deformation resistance, and reduce equipment power consumption.

2、 The difference between copper aluminum stamping and steel stamping

The commonly used steel sheets are carbon steel and stainless steel, while non-ferrous metal sheets include aluminum, copper, and their alloys. They have high plasticity and low deformation resistance, making them suitable for cold stamping processing.

(1) Copper aluminum and its alloys are widely used as internal components in the production of electrical equipment due to their good ductility and excellent electrical conductivity.

(2) The stamping process of carbon steel and stainless steel is often used to manufacture equipment casings, structural components, boxes, etc., but due to their strong stiffness, stamping oil is usually used to improve the process.

3、 The difference between simple stamping and continuous stamping

A die is a tool that separates or deforms sheet metal, consisting of an upper die and a lower die. According to the structure of the stamping die, the process can be divided into two types: simple stamping and continuous stamping.

(1) Simple stamping is a stamping process in which only one process is completed in one stroke of a punch press, that is, a simple die used for cutting or punching.

(2) Continuous stamping is the process of completing multiple stamping operations simultaneously on different parts of the mold during one stroke of a punch press, with each feeding distance controlled by a stop pin.

4、 Differences in the selection of precision stamping oil

Stamping oil plays a crucial role in the stamping process, and its excellent cooling performance and extreme pressure anti-wear performance have led to a qualitative leap in the service life of molds and the improvement of workpiece accuracy. The emphasis on the performance of stamping oil varies depending on the material of the workpiece.

(1) Due to the fact that silicon steel plate is a material that is relatively easy to punch, low viscosity stamping oil is used to ensure the ease of cleaning of the finished workpiece while preventing the generation of punching burrs.

(2) When selecting stamping oil for carbon steel plates, the first thing to pay attention to is the viscosity of the stretching oil. Determine the optimal viscosity based on the difficulty of the process, the oil feeding method, and the degreasing conditions.

(3) Due to the chemical reaction with chlorine based additives, when selecting stamping oil for galvanized steel plates, attention should be paid to the possibility of white rust caused by chlorine based stamping oil. (4) Stainless steel is a material that is prone to stamping hardening, requiring the use of tensile oil with high oil film strength and good sintering resistance.
