Although we are not accurate about sheet metal now, Sheet Metal Processing has brought great convenience to our life. For example, the cases and cabinets commonly used on the Internet are all sheet metal products, which can be said to be seen everywhere in our sheet metal processing products. Since the development of the sheet metal industry, with the upgrading of technology, the four major processes have also undergone changes. The addition of laser technology has made the sheet metal processing process more perfect.
The four very important steps in traditional sheet metal processing are cutting, punching/cutting, folding, and welding.
1. Cutting: refers to the process of cutting steel plates with a shearing machine to form a square shape.
2. Punching/Cutting: Punching refers to punching with a punch press, while cutting refers to cutting corners with a punch press mold.
3. Folding: It is the bending machine that bends into the desired shape.
4. Welding: Sheet metal parts need to be welded to form a finished product through electric welding.
The new four main processes of sheet metal processing are: exciting, punching, folding, and welding, mainly involving equipment changes for cutting sheet metal.
1. Laser cutting is the main equipment for cutting materials in sheet metal processing. It has fast processing speed, high precision, short cycle (no need to open a mold), and can process various shapes, making it the main processing method for sheet metal cutting.
2. Punching: Sheet metal processing parts cannot only have a flat shape, they need to be punched with a convex hull, bud, louver (a type of ventilation hole), bridge, buckle, etc. They all need to be processed by punching. With the trend towards numerical control and automation of mechanical equipment, CNC punching machines are now used, which can install dozens of molds, program according to demand, have high efficiency, and can also assist laser cutting machines in cutting materials.
3. Folding: Compared to the old process of folding, it only adds equipment such as CNC bending machines, bending centers (assisted by robotic arms), and CNC folding machines.
4. Welding: Compared to the old process of welding, only equipment such as argon arc welding, carbon dioxide gas shielded welding, and welding robots have been added for thin plate welding.
