Before the production of stamped parts, the stamping processing plant needs to conduct post installation trial punching and debugging of the stamping mold. After trial stamping, the performance of stamped parts and stamping molds can be verified. Based on the results, stamping factories can adjust and correct stamping molds to prepare for mass production of stamped parts.
The significance of stamping die trial punching and debugging is mainly reflected in the following points:
1. Judging the quality of the mold: Check whether the product quality produced by the mold meets the requirements, and confirm whether the mold can be delivered for production and use. Assist in confirming the forming conditions and process specifications of stamping processed products. After trial punching and adjustment of the mold, qualified products can be produced. During the trial punching process, the mold's performance, product forming conditions, methods, and rules can be mastered and understood, thereby providing assistance in formulating process specifications for mass production of products; 2. Assist in confirming the shape, scale, and material specifications of the formed parts blank: In die design, some stamping formed parts with messy shapes or high precision requirements are difficult to accurately calculate the scale and shape of the blank before deformation during design. In order to obtain more accurate blank shapes, dimensions, and material specifications for stamping processing, stamping factories only need to undergo repeated trial punching to confirm;
3. Assist in confirming certain dimensions in stamping processing technology and mold design: For precision stamping formed workpieces with irregular shapes or high precision requirements, there are individual dimensions that are difficult to confirm using calculation methods in process and mold design, such as the convex and concave die corner radii of the deep drawing die, which need to be confirmed through trial punching. As long as problems are discovered and solved through debugging, and experience is accumulated, it can help further improve the level of mold design and manufacturing.
The trial punching and debugging of stamping molds are important links in mold manufacturing and the most important way to reflect the designer's intention. The proper debugging of molds directly affects the success or failure of mold manufacturing. How to set debugging programs and content to improve the quality of stamping parts and reduce debugging costs in a shorter period of time is an important research topic for stamping processing plants and mold practitioners.
