EMAR Metal Products says what is your understanding of stamping? Stamping is a forming process that relies on presses and dies to apply external forces to plates, strips, pipes and profiles to cause plastic deformation or separation, so as to obtain the desired shape and size of the workpiece (stamped parts). Stamping and forging belong to plastic processing (or pressure processing), collectively known as forging. Stamped billets are mainly hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel plates and strips. Sixty or seventy percent of the world‘s steel is sheet, most of which are stamped into finished products. The body, chassis, fuel tank, radiator sheet, boiler drum, container shell, motor and electrical core silicon steel sheet are all stamped. There are also a large number of stamping parts in products such as instrumentation, household appliances, bicycles, office machinery, and household utensils. Stamping processing is the production technology of sheet metal directly subjected to deformation force and deformation in the mold by means of the power of conventional or special stamping equipment, so as to obtain product parts of a certain shape, size and performance. Sheet metal, mold and equipment are the three elements of stamping processing. Metal products are divided into hot stamping and cold stamping according to the stamping processing temperature. The former is suitable for sheet metal processing with high deformation resistance and poor plasticity; the latter is carried out at room temperature and is a commonly used stamping method for thin plates. It is one of the main methods of metal plastic processing (or pressure processing) and also belongs to material forming engineering technology. The die used in stamping is called a stamping die, referred to as a stamping die. A stamping die is a special tool for processing materials (metal or non-metal) into the required stamping parts in batches. Stamping dies are crucial in stamping. Without stamping dies that meet the requirements, batch stamping production is difficult; without advanced stamping dies, advanced stamping processes cannot be realized. The stamping process and dies, stamping equipment and stamping materials constitute the three elements of stamping processing. Only when they are combined can stamping parts be obtained.
