Stamping parts have the characteristics of thin, uniform, light and strong compared with castings and forgings. Stamping parts processing can produce workpieces with ribs, ribs, undulations or flanges that are difficult to manufacture by other methods to improve their rigidity. Due to the use of precision molds, the accuracy of the workpiece can reach the micron level, and the repeatability is high, and the specifications are consistent. Stamping parts rely on presses and dies to apply external forces to plates, strips, pipes and profiles to cause plastic deformation or separation, so as to obtain the desired shape and size of the workpiece (stamping parts processing). Stamping parts processing and forging belong to plastic processing (or pressure processing), collectively known as forging. The billets processed by stamping parts are mainly hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel plates and strips. Stamping parts are generally no longer machined by cutting, or only a small amount of cutting is required. The accuracy and surface state of hot stamping parts are lower than those of cold stamping parts, but they are still better than castings and forgings, and the amount of cutting is small. Stamping is mainly classified according to the process, which can be divided into two categories: separation process and forming process. Separation process is also called stamping. Its purpose is to separate the stamping parts from the sheet along the contour line, and at the same time ensure the quality requirements of the separation section. The purpose of the forming process is to make the sheet plastic deformation without breaking the billet, and make a workpiece of the desired shape and size. In actual production, multiple processes are often applied to a workpiece. Punching, bending, shearing, deep drawing, bulging, spinning, and correcting are several main stamping processes. The surface and internal properties of stamping sheets have a great impact on the quality of stamped finished products, requiring the thickness and uniformity of stamping materials; smooth surface, no spots, no scars, no scratches, no surface cracks, etc.; uniform yield strength, no obvious directionality; high uniform elongation; low yield ratio; low work hardening. In actual production, process tests similar to the stamping process, such as deep drawing performance test, bulging performance test, etc. are commonly used to test the stamping performance of materials to ensure the quality of finished products and high pass rate.
